The man with the patch is back. Call him Snake. Kurt Russell rejoins filmmakers John Carpenter and Debra Hill to do to the Big Orange what they did to the Big Apple in Escape From New York – with even more futuristic thrills and slam-bang action! Into the 9.6-quaked Los Angeles of 2013 comes Snake Plissken (Russell). His job: wade through L.A.'s ruined landmarks to retrieve a doomsday device. Don't miss the excitement as Snake surfs Wilshire Blvd., shoots hoops at the Coliseum, dive bombs the Happy Kingdom theme park, and mixes it up with a wild assortment of friends, fiends and foes (Stacy Keach, Steve Buscemi, Peter Fonda, George Corraface, Cliff Robertson, Pam Grier and more). Escape From L.A. is a "go-for-broke action extravaganza!" (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times).

  • Good and Bad

Ok, this movie appears to be done in parody style, but I don’t know if it is on purpose. I saw Escape from NY and it was kinda silly, but this seems to recycle the exact same plot and just say “we are sending Snake to LA now to do the exact same thing” same dialogue even at the beginning of both movies. Now it is entertaining don’t get me wrong. But the horrible submarine sequence with the special effects, was it purposefully done that bad? Because there was better cheap special effects in the 70s. That looked like an original Nintendo video game being played there with that special effect being so bad. But was this on purpose? Maybe so I donno.
  • The Best

I saw this movie before seeing Escape From Nee York and because of the similarity in plots, I actually prefer this one. It doesn't take itself as seriously as part 1 but it's a fun ride. Snake Plissken is one of the best characters ever created and this movie has one of my favorite endings of all time.
  • Pretty entertaining but honestly...

I really liked Escape from New York but this movie was incredibly disappointing. The acting was bad, the ending was ridiculous and normally I'm not bothered by a film's special effects but it was hard to take this movie seriously with effects that bad. I recommend watching Escape from New York and then just stopping right there.
  • Classic!

Don't expect the kind of visual effects like mission impossible, but you can truly expect a really good movie within all the 90's technology can provide.

I really liked Escape from New York. This one is basically the same thing except worse.

This is one of those movies that's just fun to watch. Not as good as Escape from NY but holds its own. Glad I got to see more of Snake. Would love another sequel.
  • Have fun with it

  • I don't understand this one part

Ok, so I just watched the movie and ( Spoiler Warning ) Snake Plissken, Main Character, turns off all of the power in the whole entire world??? WHAT! Ok, so let me get this straight, he had to be so angry that he shut down the whole world's power??? NO! I mean those satelitte things used EMP, or whatever, and that showed the main base being powered down. Did he shut down the whole worlds power, or not? Somebody tell me, please. This doesn't make much sense to me.
  • What is the big deal

I don't get it. L.A. looks the same to me, if not better.
  • How about Escape from New York

This movie is pretty good, but not nearly as good as the classic movie made before this one, Escape from New York. How about getting that movie for us to buy iTunes?
