Reviews

  • Really fun Bourne style film (kidding)!

I suppose if you put this actor and director in a film it has to be compared to their Bourne collaborations so I won't. As a stand alone film (which it is) it's really good, it's only in the comparison that it suffers of all things by comparison! Sit back and enjoy this advebture and forget "Bourne" and you'll like the film. The story was political at the time but not now so much. Anyway that's one film lovers opinion (7.5/10)

Yes, some parts accurate... Lots of plot holes. Could have been a good thriller/spy movie - instead, it's a political statement. I wanted an engaging movie, not 60 Minutes!

Green Zone does a fine job of simulating the reality of war and the compelxity of conflicting agendas. However, as with most Hollywood films of late, it would be far better if the foucus was on developing a story line with quality acting, and less on politics. Particulalry ironic that the film takes to task the different agendas present in war time, while it in fact does exactly the same by pushing it's own rather outdated agenda. With recent revelations that the actual story should have been about the strange suppression of the discovery of WMD, versus no WMD exisitng, it makes the obvious political agenda here even more cumbersome. Better story line, better acting, and less politics please.
  • Liberal Propaganda

This is a movie made by liberals, for liberals. It’s void of any real facts surrounding the Iraq war. It completely omits the WMD’s, and materials used to make WMD’s, we found over there. (yellow cake for example)
  • Action-packed story - not necessarily all true . . .

I really liked the film for the action and Matt Damon's superb performance in a more recent war event-type film. One needs to realize when viewing that the story is not necessarily based upon true fact - nor does it claim to be - only shows one side of what "might" have happened. Being a retired medical vet, I saw troops who came back indicating their chem weapon indicators had gone off - more than once - so, again, this is a "story" - not necessarily factual. If you like action and Matt Damon - go see it!

I normally really like Matt Damon movies, but this one stinks. This is basically a movie to push Damon's personal political position on the war in Iraq.
  • political

This would have been a "good" movie had the intention not been political.

I like how all the right wing reviewers back in 2010 and probably still are in denial that the Bush admin. flat out lied so we can go to war. Today people in his administration back then admit the total lack of evidence and unreliable sources used to sell us WMD's existed. I hope the lost lives all around and the cost of war was with it.
