Walker, a reimagining of the long-running series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” stars Jared Padalecki (“Supernatural”) as Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two with his own moral code, who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home. He’ll attempt to reconnect with his creative and thoughtful son (Kale Culley, “Me, Myself and I”) and his headstrong, somewhat rebellious teenaged daughter (Violet Brinson, “Sharp Objects”) and navigate clashes with his family - an ADA brother (Keegan Allen, “Pretty Little Liars”) who stepped in during Walker’s absence, his perceptive mother (Molly Hagen, “Herman’s Head”) and his traditional rancher father (Mitch Pileggi, “The X-Files”). Walker’s former colleague is now his Ranger Captain, (Coby Bell, “The Game”). Walker finds unexpected common ground with his new partner (one of the first women in Texas Rangers’ history) played by Lindsey Morgan (“The 100”), while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death. The show also stars Jeff Pierre as Trey Barnett.

  • Like the cast but ...

Like the cast (especially Jared) but there is WAY too much spoiled teenage angst.
  • Sorry

I tried watching the first 2 episodes, but just couldn’t even get pass to next one after that. I’ve watched the original series when I was a kid and pretty obvious I’m a big Norris fan and I got nothing against J. Padalecki, but I feel that they should’ve picked someone else for the role. On top of that, Lindsey Morgan seems to be the only one dishing out all of the action and all of the work and I loved her recent work on the third Skyline movie. I’m sorry to say this but don’t think it will even make it pass it’s freshman season. :(
  • It’s a New Show

Don’t look for Chuck Norris or Sam Winchester. Instead, it’s a family drama about a man who has been widowed with two teenagers as they navigate through this new life. He happens to be a Texas Ranger. It’s 70% family and 30% cop drama.

Okay I’ll try to be as concise as possible. I’m a big fan of Walker, Texas Ranger so I watched the pilot b/c of all the hype over this Jared Padalecki acting skills & in my opinion he FAILED MISERABLY!! Not only is his acting horrible he looks nothing like Chuck Norris/Cordell Walker nor does he convey the same confidence & self assurance that Norris did with the character. Not to mention the fact that the guy apparently has no martial art skills at all. How are we suppose to believe that Walker a stoic, confident, well built , & highly skilled martial artists is gonna work under cover for 2 years come back being almost a foot taller looking like a tapeworm with nothing left in him, scared of his own shadow, & unable to fight his way out of a wet paper bag. To me it doesn’t fit, work, nor sale so can the show or rewrite it & get someone else to play Cordell Walker b/c having Jared Padalecki attempting to play the part is nothing more than a Embarrassment, Insult/Slap in the face to a very Multitalented Actor & Worlds Champion Martial Artist many times over. I Did Not Like The Show & Will Not Watch Any Further Episodes! Respectfully, Vickie

Couldn’t be better candidate to play Walker than Jared! Can’t wait to see what else this series has in store👍🏽
  • To be honest...

I expected more, it is kind of boring and isn't really as entertaining as Walker, Texas Ranger was. The second episode was better but still...I don't know. Don't get me wrong, the acting is great and the cast is perfect but it is just...boring.
  • Enjoying it!

I was skeptical of a remake but I am happy they created a new storyline and made it unique in comparison to the original show. Can’t wait to see what is next!
  • Depends on what you were expecting

Whoever decided to call this show Walker I am fairly certain their sum total of knowledge of the original is that there was one and it was called Walker, Texas Ranger. If you go into it expecting a remake you will be totally disappointed. As others have said this is a family drama not an action cop show. There are no big fights, the "case" they worked on is a joke. I mean who smuggles drugs across the border and then leaves them on display in their own store? The family drama part is not too bad though. Several obvious sterotypes and a lot of good story points left unexplored though. If you are bored give it a try otherwise I would suggest waiting.
  • A great start!

I really enjoyed the first episode. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I really like Jared Padalecki, and enjoyed Supernatural, but sometimes it was too dark for my tastes. This hit a nice balance of drama, and potential social issues. The characters are interesting and engaging. I look forward to more!
